It has been used medicinally in cases of headache, arthritis, cholera, seizures, delirium, dysentery, dyspepsia, epilepsy, fever, inflammation, rabies, rheumatism, sores, tuberculosis, tumors, cancer, spasms, conjunctivitis, nausea, as an astringent, repellent, alterative, aphrodisiac, insecticide, stimulant and emetic.
