Scientific name: Betonica officinalis
Origin: Europe, Siberia and NW Africa
Medicinal use: In its composition there are abundant tannins, lactones and betaine; it is also particularly rich in phenolic acids, such as chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, and rosmarinic acid. Finally, a glycoside has also been found to which the hypotensive properties of the plant are attributed, being recommended for people suffering from hypertension.
