Medicinal use: Brownea is a genus of about 30 species belonging to the Fabaceae family, subfamily Caesalpinioideae. Native to the tropical regions of America, they are shrubs or trees that reach 20 m in height, some of which have been introduced to West Africa as ornamental plants. They require full sun and are usually slow growing.
