Scientific name: Stellaria yunnanensis
Medicinal use: Perennial native to southwestern China. The plant forms a complex mass, elongated, long-reaching stems conspicuously studded with long pedicels topped by star-shaped white flowers that are similar in shape to our common chickweed flowers but about three times larger. The finely tuberous roots of this wild Chinese food is the part used. They are commonly cooked in soup.
