Medicinal use: Its seeds produce an edible oil. The bark and root infusion is used to treat malaria, gastrointestinal conditions (diarrhea, atonic dyspepsia, weakness, amoebiasis, worms, whipworms, vomiting), nervousness, intermittent fevers, cough. The leaf tincture has antiamebic activity. The crushed leaves are applied topically to treat skin conditions and some forms of cancer.
