Medicinal use: Kumquat, is a genus of fruit trees and shrubs of the Rutaceae family. The pulp is segmented, and is slightly acidic, orange in color. Kumquat, especially the Meiwa variety, is consumed as fresh fruit. The essential oil from the fresh leaves and shoots is sometimes used in perfumery. They are also used to make jam and a sauce similar to chutney, with kumquat, orange, honey, salt, butter and spices.
