Origin: USA, Texas

Medicinal use: It is a deciduous tree with a rounded crown and branches with thorns that can reach 15 meters in height. They are used as windbreaks, in rows in avenues or parks, as shade trees and even as hedges giving them a shrubby appearance. The female specimens are the ones that produce the fruits that can become annoying because if they are not collected they rot in the ground causing bad odors.
