Medicinal use: The plant contains mainly oxalates, especially potassium bioxalate (7%) which is responsible for its characteristic acid taste. It also contains anthraquinones, tannins, quercithin, vitexin, iron salts and vitamin C. Aperitif and diuretic, slightly laxative. Other properties are: antianemic, purifying the blood, remineralizing, mucolytic, decongestant of the skin and stimulating the organic defenses.
