Medicinal use: Sunflower contains up to 58% oil in its fruit, oil that is used for cooking, and also to produce biodiesel. The virgin sunflower oil —obtained from the pressing of the pipes—, although it does not have the qualities of olive oil, it does have four times the amount of natural vitamin E than this. The stems contain a fiber that can be used to make paper, and the leaves can also serve as food for livestock.
