Medicinal use: Trichanthera gigantea is a species of arboreal plant of the Acanthaceae family, which is found near rivers and water sources, in swampy areas, humid forests and estuaries1 between 100 and 2,150 m of altitude. Medicinal properties are attributed to it, such as liver protector and antimalarial. The green stalks are used to treat nephritis and the roots as a “blood tonic”.
