Medicinal use: This plant is native to the subtropical areas of the African Continent and western Asia, where it includes lands ranging from Egypt to Iran. It became popular in India due to its qualities as a pigment, being used frequently in hair dye and temporary tattoos. In addition, the infusion of the flowers and leaves are used to relieve pain caused by dysmenorrhea and to control amenorrhea.
